Tamraght

Between Agadir and Taghazout, thirty kilometres of coast. Waves all year, the Atlas right behind, and still not too many people.

The spots

Surf

  • Banana Beach

    Beginner

The village beach. Sandy bottom, long forgiving waves: this is where you learn.

  • Croco Beach

    Beginner +

Just north. A bit more power, well-defined peaks. The first real step up.

  • Devil's Rock

    Intermediate

A right that peels along the rocks. Technical, rewarding.

  • Anchor Point

    Advanced

The Taghazout legend. A right that can run 500 metres on the good days.

  • Imsouane

    All levels

An hour up the coast. Morocco's longest wave. We go as a day trip.

Map of the coast

Tamraght is sunny almost all year, with air between 20 and 27 °C and water at 17–22 °C. What changes is the swell: winter brings the steady waves, summer the gentlest ones: perfect to learn.

When you are not surfing

Paradise Valley · Natural pools carved into the rock, forty minutes into the mountains. We go on Wednesdays, all together.

Legzira & Sidi Ifni · The red arches, the wild beach, and an old Spanish town in the middle of nowhere. A full day.

Kasbah Oufella · The cable car climbs above Agadir. Camels at the bottom, the whole bay lighting up at sunset.

The hammam · The real one, the neighbourhood one. Black soap, rhassoul, and an hour where you think about nothing.
